LNG-CNG Service Stations
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) are rapidly becoming a common fuel used in vehicles, not only as they help reduce emissions, but also to reduce fuel costs.
An essential aspect for promoting the use of these gases are LCNG service stations.
An LCNG station is a combined LNG and CNG station, which uses LNG supplied by tanker trucks and stored on-site for use as fuel.
In order to use LNG as fuel, the liquid must first be pumped though a saturation coil, typically an ambient vaporizer, to condition the LNG at saturated temperatures. Once conditioned, the LNG is pumped to a dispenser and into the vehicle. When CNG is needed, the LNG is pumped at high pressure and sent through a high pressure ambient vaporizer to be warmed and sent to a storage cylinder bank to await dispensing.
